Call for Proposals: Children and Adolescence in a Changing Global Order
The Advanced Study Center of the University of Michigan invites proposals from faculty and graduate students to support research
that focuses on childhood and/or adolescence. Childhood is a vital intellectual topic, the exploration of which can have
practical manifestations that shape the world. We are particularly interested in projects that focus on how children and
youth are represented and participate in public policy and cultural politics, and how transformations in nation-states and
institutions involve children.
This call for proposals continues from the Advanced Study Center's 2001-2002 program, "Contested Childhood in a Changing Global
Order" (http://www.umich.edu/~iinet/asc/contested-childhood.html). We invite research that has developed from that event, as
well as new work on the subject.

salaries.
